SLTEC is a company that specialises in the formulation and distribution of fluid fertilizer blends.
Our company focuses solely on the development, formulation, custom blending and on farm supply of fluid fertilizer products.
SLTEC commenced fertilizer production in the Spring of 2005 and in July 2006 completed building a world class customised bulk fluid fertilizer blending and formulations factory in Tongala, Northern Victoria.
This development marks a substantial investment in fluid fertilizer technology for the South Eastern agricultural industries, being strategically placed to efficiently access and deliver innovative fluid products and services to our selected target markets.
We have invested heavily in new technology to ensure the highest quality and efficiency exists with our blending process. The factory also has substantial onsite storage capacity to enable continuity of supply in peak periods. Our new factory has been developed based on research of fertilizer technology from around the world.
This development integrates concepts and innovations from offshore. A wide range of international standards and leading engineering technology has been integrated into our formulations and blend batching processes.
The Tongala facility has been designed to meet all regulatory and environmental regulations, with all water and waste systems being recycled (a first). Our facilities are fully bunded and we have developed a biodiversity conservation and enhancement plan for our 9 hectare site, preserving and increasing the presence of local endangered native flora species. International standards ISO14001 and ISO9000 have been integrated into the development of the site, our operating procedures and our staff and dealer training programs.
Despite being young as a company, our technical and operational team has more than 150 years experience in the Australian fertilizer and irrigation industries. Our team have experience in; general crop agronomy, soil science, soil biology, research & development, international agricultural consultancy, fertilizer formulations technology, fertilizer, irrigation and fertigation technologies.
SLTEC's branded fertigation products are designed primarily for the horticultural market sectors (row crop vegetables, fruit trees and vines) and for other intensively irrigated farming systems in Victoria, Southern NSW and South Australia. An innovative range of high analysis fluid fertilizer solutions have been developed.
SLTEC has developed a range of new and innovative fertigation technology to assist our customers and their farmers with issues such as handling large volumes of fluid products through the supply chain from point of manufacture to the point of field application. These transport, storage and handling innovations are considered critical to the growth of the fluid fertilizer market.
SLTEC products are marketed exclusively through selected rural retailers operating in our target market. We have established a strong dealer distribution network throughout Victoria, Southern NSW and SA.
Fertigation technology (applying fertilizers through irrigation systems) is clearly an area with significant opportunity for farmers to improve, potentially providing improved crop yield and quality, while at the same time making more efficient use of inputs such as fertilizer and scarce water resources. SLTEC provides both fertigation and fluid logistics expertise, agronomy and know how to assist our customer base and their farmers achieve these benefits.
